Purchasing Clothing For Your Muppet
What’s that? You need a costume in a hurry, but don’t have the time to make one for yourself? No problem, at least, no problem if you don’t mind spending extra money. You can purchase clothing for your Muppet, I have found that Sally usually fits a 2 or 3T pretty well. A 4T is
sometimes required for skirts, depending on the material.

A few things to watch out for

• Muppets have no natural waistline, you may have to get creative to give the appearance of one.
  
• Professional wear (Fig. 28) for toddlers is difficult, but not impossible to come by.
  
• Sleeves need to be big enough to get the hand through, otherwise it won’t fit.
  
• Shirts are going to dangle onto your arm.

Places to buy clothing

• Target usually has the nicest and best selection.

• Wal-Mart occasionaly has something. For Halloween costumes, they can’t be beat.

I also recommend resisting the urge to order online. While most retailers have return policies, I find it to be a hassle to get back to the post office to actually mail the package out. However, if you find an aboslutely perfect outfit, and you feel you must have it, go ahead.
