The first thing we will do on this page is create a sloper, or second skin, of your Muppet.

Make a Guide Sheet
A guide sheet is a piece of paper that has the center marks already on it. I find it extremely
helpful to have one while drafting, however this step is optional.

1. Take one sheet of paper and make a mark down the center longways and shortways.
   
2. Turn this piece of paper landscape and tape it to your surface. (Fig. 2)

Make a Body Pattern

1. Take a new sheet of paper and line it up with the top of the page, so that you can see the halfway mark. (Fig.3)
   
2. Center the line for the neck on the guide line.
   
3. Measure from the outside edges, and mark the length of the cone on both sides.
   
4. Connect these marks with a line.
   
5. Repeat step 4 for the base of the cone.
   
6. Make a line connecting the neck and base.
   
7. Start at the neck line and measure down the length from neck to arm.
   
8. Start the base line and measure up the length from base to under arm.
   
9. Make half circle, with a radius that equals half the wrist. You will probably need to resize this once you start building. (Fig. 4)
